Market Introduction

Access where the facility can't.

Marine and port structures hold their most consequential conditions below the waterline, pile section loss, seawall undermining, berth sedimentation. Those conditions decide whether a berth stays serviceable, and they cannot be evaluated from the dock. Zion Marine provides the underwater access to inspect, document, repair and dredge them where surface access is limited or impossible.

Common challenges

What we're usually called in for.

The operational conditions that lead an owner to call.

01

Pile damage & corrosion

Steel and concrete piles lose section to corrosion and marine growth. We inspect, document and repair the condition.

02

Severe saltwater corrosion

Marine growth and saltwater deteriorate steel piling and concrete seawalls. We document the deterioration and perform repair.

03

Concrete deterioration

Submerged concrete in piers and seawalls spalls and cracks. We document the condition and perform targeted repair.

04

Collision damage

Vessel impacts damage piles, fenders and dolphins. We inspect and document the extent of damage for repair scoping.

05

Sedimentation & scour

Berths silt in and scour over time, reducing draft and capacity. We dredge to restore design depth.

06

Active vessel traffic

Work must be closely coordinated with port operations and ship dockings. We plan around berth schedules and traffic.

Working around operating infrastructure

Port work has to occur around active vessel traffic, berth schedules and dockings. We coordinate with port operations on access and timing, and plan each scope around current, visibility and traffic constraints. Scopes are evaluated for access, safety and operational impact before the crew enters the water.
