Overview

From finding the problem to fixing it.

Most underwater contractors stop at the report. Zion Marine moves from inspection into the corrective work, repair, replacement, installation and construction below the waterline, so owners deal with one accountable contractor instead of a handoff chain.

When this capability is needed.

Structural conditions
  • Deteriorated concrete
  • Damaged or corroded piles
  • Spalling or exposed rebar
  • Cracked or leaking structures
Component failures
  • Damaged gates or seals
  • Failed intake components
  • Damaged fender or dock systems
  • Obstructed flow paths
Planned work
  • Repairs identified by inspection
  • Planned modifications or installations
  • Temporary repairs before permanent work
  • Construction support scopes
Methods and deliverables

Repair methods & materials.

Depending on the condition, structure and operating constraints, repair methods may include:

  • Underwater welding
  • Tremie concrete placement
  • Pile encasement and jacketing
  • Epoxy grouting
  • Crack injection
  • Concrete repair
  • Structural repair
  • Component installation
  • Removal and demolition
  • Cutting and drilling
  • Mechanical work
  • Temporary repairs
  • Pre-repair condition documentation
  • Repair method and materials record
  • In-process video and photography
  • Post-repair verification
  • As-built measurements
  • Formal completion report
Workflow

From scope to a verified repair.

A structured path from the initial review to a deliverable the owner or engineer can act on.

01

Condition & repair scope

We review the inspection findings and define the repair scope the condition actually requires, not more, not less.

02

Method & material selection

Repair method, materials and sequence are selected for the submerged condition, flow and access constraints.

03

Execution

Surface-supplied divers perform the repair with the appropriate materials and equipment for the underwater environment.

04

Verification & documentation

The completed repair is verified and documented so the owner has a record of what was done and how.

Operating conditions

Built for difficult conditions.

Repairs are planned around the actual environment, operational facilities, difficult access, poor visibility, submerged structures and limited shutdown windows. Every project is evaluated individually to determine the appropriate method, equipment, crew and operating limitations.

Evaluated per project
  • Operational facilities
  • Difficult access
  • Poor visibility
  • Submerged structures
  • Limited shutdown windows
  • Active flow
  • Contaminated environments
  • Confined spaces
Surface-supplied diving

Infrastructure work is performed with surface-supplied diving: umbilical gas, voice communication, topside supervision and a standby diver. Why that matters →

Continuity of service

Repairs start with a documented condition.

When the condition is not yet known, Zion Marine begins with inspection and documentation, then moves directly into the repair scope the findings actually justify.

What that can include
  • Condition assessment
  • Damage documentation
  • Repair scoping
  • Engineer coordination
